The price on a barrel sauna is only the first number. A realistic budget adds a heater, a base, an electrician and VAT, and the right choice between a DIY kit and a pre-assembled unit can move the total by thousands of euros. This guide breaks down what an outdoor barrel sauna actually costs in Europe, using the current prices of the four Auroom models we supply.
All prices below are shown excluding VAT. VAT at the rate of your delivery country is added at checkout, and delivery is included in the listed price for mainland European addresses. Prices were checked on 2 October 2026; the product pages always show the current price for your exact configuration.
Price by model and size
Each model is built in thermally modified spruce, comes in Natural Wood or Brushed Black, and can be ordered as a DIY kit or pre-assembled. The table shows the lowest price for each size, which is the Natural Wood DIY kit.

|---|---|---|
| 1–2 persons | Halo Cosy 120 | €6,100 |
| 1–2 persons | Sola 140 (square) | €7,200 |
| 2 persons | Halo Cosy 150 | €7,300 |
| 2 persons | Halo Cosy 180 | €7,600 |
| Up to 4 persons | Luma Cosy 225 (with porch) | €7,300 |
| 4 persons | Halo Cosy 225 | €7,700 |
| Up to 6 persons | Luma Cosy 300 (with porch) | €8,200 |
| Up to 6 persons | Nora 210 (square) | €9,000 |
| Up to 6 persons | Sola 210 (square) | €9,400 |
| Up to 8 persons | Sola 250 (square) | €9,800 |
Across the range, a Natural Wood DIY kit runs from €6,100 to €10,500, and the most expensive configuration, the Halo Extra Comfy pre-assembled in Brushed Black with a changing room, is €14,300. The full barrel sauna range shows every combination.
DIY kit or pre-assembled: what the difference costs
A DIY kit arrives flat-packed and assembles with a tongue-and-groove interlocking system that needs no specialist tools. A pre-assembled sauna arrives fully built on a pallet. The premium for pre-assembly depends on the size:
- Halo: between €1,800 and €3,100 more than the kit, depending on the model.
- Luma: €1,500 to €2,000 more.
- Nora: €1,500 to €2,000 more.
- Sola: €1,100 to €1,700 more.
Whether that is worth paying depends on who assembles it and how access works on your site. We compare both routes in detail in DIY kit vs pre-assembled.
The finish: Natural Wood or Brushed Black
Brushed Black costs more. On the DIY kits the premium is between €600 and €1,000 depending on the model, so a Halo Cosy 150 is €7,300 in Natural Wood and €7,900 in Brushed Black. The finish changes the look of the exterior, not the sauna itself.
The heater
The sauna does not include a heater, so budget for one. A heater should be matched to the interior volume of your sauna, and our sizing guide explains how to calculate it. Current ranges, ex VAT:
| Heater | Electric | Wood-burning |
|---|---|---|
| Harvia | €640 to €1,520 | €1,510 to €1,770 |
| HUUM | €1,130 to €2,090 | €2,230 to €2,590 |
Wood-burning options are listed on the Harvia and HUUM pages. All heaters are in Sauna Heaters & Accessories.
VAT: what the total looks like in your country
Our prices exclude VAT. The VAT rate of the delivery country is added at checkout, so the total you pay is higher than the listed price. For a Halo Cosy 150 DIY kit in Natural Wood at €7,300 ex VAT, the totals at standard national rates are:
| Delivery country | Standard VAT | Total incl. VAT |
|---|---|---|
| Germany | 19% | €8,687 |
| France | 20% | €8,760 |
| Netherlands | 21% | €8,833 |
| Denmark | 25% | €9,125 |
The rate that applies to your order is calculated at checkout from your delivery address.
The costs outside the price list
Three items sit outside our price list because they depend entirely on your site and country. Get quotes for them before you commit:
- The base. The manufacturer's installation documentation calls for a stable, level substructure. That can be a concrete slab, a compacted gravel bed with paving slabs, or a deck with verified load capacity. The cost swings widely with ground conditions.
- The electrician. An electric heater needs a dedicated circuit, and the cable run from the house to the garden can be significant. A qualified electrician should connect it in every country.
- Delivery extras. Delivery is included for mainland European addresses. Crane lifts, placement in the garden and remote or island locations may cost extra.
The buying guide covers base, power supply and heater sizing in detail.
An example budget
For a four-person sauna, a Luma Cosy 225 as a Natural Wood DIY kit costs €7,300 ex VAT. Adding a heater from the ranges above brings the equipment total to roughly €7,940 ex VAT with the cheapest electric Harvia, or €8,430 with the cheapest electric HUUM. Heater choice should follow your calculated volume, so confirm the size before you pick the cheapest option. The base, electrician and VAT come on top.
